* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Eastern Granville County in central North Carolina... Vance County in central North Carolina... Western Warren County in central North Carolina... * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 858 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Torrential rainfall was occurring. Hourly rates were in excess of 2.5 inches per hour. However, most locations see the heaviest rainfall in 20 to 30 minutes. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Henderson, Norlina, Kittrell, Middleburg, South Henderson, Satterwhite Point Marina, Gillburg, Dabney, Steele Creek Marina & Campground, Drewry, Bullocksville, Kerr Lake, Afton, Tungsten and John H Kerr Reservoir. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
