Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southeastern Mecklenburg County in the piedmont of North Carolina... Central Union NC County in the piedmont of North Carolina... * WHEN...Until 115 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1018 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Monroe, South Charlotte, East Charlotte, Matthews, Mint Hill, Indian Trail, Weddington, Stallings, Unionville, Wesley Chapel, Waxhaw, Lake Park, Mineral Springs, Hemby Bridge, Marvin and Fairview In Union County. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
