* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...West Central Rowan County in the northwest Piedmont of North Carolina... * WHEN...Until 500 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1225 PM EDT, the river gauge on North Second Creek above US 70 was at 12.76 feet and falling. Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory area. At this level, North Second Creek is out of its banks up and downstream of the gauge site on US 70, flooding adjacent farmland and other low-lying areas with up to 2 feet of inundation. Upstream tributaries may be flooding several low- water crossings. Impacted crossings upstream may include at White Rd, Lyerly Rd, Upright Rd, Graham Rd, Hall Rd, Childers Rd, and Bear Poplar Rd. Flooding impacts will continue, but additional rainfall is expected to be light. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Piedmont Research Station. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
