Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Additional thunderstorms may develop and move over the area this evening. * WHERE...South Central Boyd County in north central Nebraska... Northern Holt County in north central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 702 PM CDT, the public reported heavy rain in 5 South Butte due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. 5 South Butte is the most likely place to experience minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Parshall Bridge State Wildlife Management Area and Hull Lake State Wildlife Management Area. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
