Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Eastern Scotts Bluff County in the panhandle of Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 630 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 438 PM MDT, the public reported heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Scottsbluff, Gering, Terrytown, Minatare, Melbeta, Scottsbluff Airport, Lake Minatare State Recreation Area and Scotts Bluff National Monument. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
