* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Essex, Hudson and Union, and southeast New York, including the following counties, Richmond (Staten Island) Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), and Queens. * WHEN...Until 530 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 228 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Additional rainfall amounts of 1/2 to 1 inch are expected. Some locations that could experience flooding include... Newark, Jersey City, Elizabeth, Flatbush, Bayonne, Hoboken, Linden, Secaucus, Harrison, Todt Hill, Crown Heights, The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Midtown Manhattan, Huguenot, RFK Bridge, Laguardia Airport, Jackson Heights, Bay Ridge, Astoria and Lower East Side. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
