What is happening
What: Urban and arroyo flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in normally dry arroyos. Where: West, central, and northeast El Paso in Texas, and Sunland Park in New Mexico. When: Until 1015 PM MDT.
What the bulletin says to do
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

* WHAT...Urban and arroyo flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...West, central, and northeast El Paso in Texas, and Sunland Park in New Mexico. * WHEN...Until 1015 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 826 PM MDT, Thunderstorms with torrential rainfall are sitting along the crest of Franklin Mountains, and trail back into Sunland Park and downtown El Paso. Flooding is likely to occur in arroyos in Franklin Mountains State Park, and McKelligon Canyon. Localized street flooding is possible in urban areas close to either side of the Franklins.
