In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...South Central Lincoln County in central New Mexico... * WHEN...Until 745 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 447 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow moving thunderstorms between Ruidoso and Glencoe. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. This includes the following streams and drainages... Ruidoso, Rio, Little Creek and Eagle Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ruidoso, Ruidoso Downs, Glencoe and Hollywood. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
