* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of northeastern Otero County in New Mexico. * WHEN...Until 645 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 336 PM MDT, Thunderstorms have produced just shy of 1 inch of rain just west of South Tularosa Canyon. Runoff from these storms will work its way into the main canyon, and could cause minor flooding in side canyons and roads. Minor flows out of Soldier Canyon are also possible. Some locations that may experience flooding include... Mescalero, South Tularosa Canyon, Eight Canyon, Soldier Canyon and Firman Lake. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
