* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Kings (Brooklyn) County in southeastern New York... Northwestern Nassau County in southeastern New York... Queens County in southeastern New York... * WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 443 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms approaching the area. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 1 1/2 inches are expected over the area. This rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jamaica, Glen Cove, Coney Island, Rockaway Beach, Great Neck, Kennedy Airport, Forest Hills, Canarsie, Bayside, Elmont, Howard Beach, Ozone Park, Port Washington, Manhasset, Sands Point, Little Neck, Sheepshead Bay, Floral Park and Inwood. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
