* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Suffolk County in southeastern New York... * WHEN...Until 1030 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 838 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Islip, Brentwood, Commack, Huntington Station, Centereach, Shirley, Deer Park, Lindenhurst, Medford, Hauppauge, Ronkonkoma, Huntington, Manorville, Stony Brook, Babylon, Patchogue, Middle Island, Port Jefferson, Wading River and Center Moriches. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
