* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following county, Suffolk. * WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1052 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain, with embedded thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the last 6 hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area through 2 pm. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Islip, Brentwood, Riverhead, Centereach, Shirley, Medford, Southold, Hauppauge, Ronkonkoma, Manorville, Stony Brook, Babylon, Patchogue, Middle Island, Port Jefferson, Wading River, Center Moriches, Mattituck, Southampton and Westhampton. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
