* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Berkeley County in southeastern South Carolina... Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 1100 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 923 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Combination of high tides and heavy rainfall could lead to minor flooding across the City of Charleston and low lying coastal communities for the next hour until tides begin to fall. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, James Island, West Ashley, Downtown Charleston, Johns Island, Fort Sumter, I-26/I-526 Interchange, Daniel Island and Hollywood.
