* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northwestern Calhoun County in central South Carolina... Southwestern Kershaw County in central South Carolina... East Central Lexington County in central South Carolina... Central Richland County in central South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 1015 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 714 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Columbia, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, Springdale, Dentsville, McEntire Air Base, St. Andrews, Oak Grove, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Gaston, Arcadia Lakes, Fort Jackson, Horrel Hill, Woodfield, Hopkins, Sesquicentennial State Park and Five Points. This includes the following highways... Interstate 126 between mile markers 0 and 3. Interstate 26 between mile markers 106 and 125. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 63 and 90.
