Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Northeastern Chesterfield County in central South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 815 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 607 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cheraw, Chesterfield, Cheraw Municipal Airport, Northeastern Technical College, Ruby, Mount Croghan, Chesterfield Ruby Middle School, Chesterfield Detention Center and Bay Springs Fire Station. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
