What the bulletin says to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Cherokee County in northeastern Texas... * WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 459 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated areas of moderate to heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen since Wednesday, with 1 to 3 inches of this having fallen since midnight. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches, with isolated higher amounts up to 3 inches, are expected over the area through 9 AM. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jacksonville, Rusk, Alto, Wells, Maydelle, Ponta, Morrill, Mixon, Mount Selman, Reese, Forest, New Summerfield, Gallatin, Cuney, Linwood and Teaselville. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
