What is happening

What: Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings and roadways. Where: Northeastern El Paso County in Texas. When: Until 515 PM MDT.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northeastern El Paso County in Texas. * WHEN...Until 515 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings and roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 320 PM MDT, Slow moving thunderstorms over Hueco Tanks have produced 0.50 to 0.75 inches of rain in under an hour. This will cause arroyos to flow in the area, and low water crossings may become inundated. If thunderstorms persist, especially upstream of the major low water crossings entering the park, the advisory may need to be upgraded to a Flash Flood Warning. Some locations that may experience flooding include... Hueco Tanks, Hueco Mountain Estates, Butterfield and Homestead Meadows. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
