* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Southwestern Hidalgo County in deep south Texas... * WHEN...Until 845 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 741 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mission, Palmview, Penitas, La Joya, Palmhurst, Sharyland, South McAllen, North McAllen, Alton, Veterans Memorial High School, Castro Elementary School, Garcia Middle School, Mission Regional Medical Center, Palmview High School, Mission Fire Station Number 3, Sharyland High School, West Sharyland, Sylvia Vela Park, La Homa and Alton Memorial Junior High School. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
