* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of south central Virginia, including the following county and independent city, City of Martinsville and Henry. * WHEN...Until 730 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 326 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in the advisory area and multiple thunderstorms progress across the area. Between 0.3 and 0.8 inches of rain have fallen. This includes the following streams and drainages... Mulberry Creek, Beaver Creek, Smith River, Leatherwood Creek and Hairston Branch. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Martinsville...
