* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Central Henry County in south central Virginia... The City of Martinsville in south central Virginia... * WHEN...Until 345 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1048 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated light to moderate rain falling across the advisory area, which will taper off between noon and 1 PM. Creek and river levels remain elevated due to between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain which fell overnight. Minor flooding has been observed across a few locations, including along Blacksberry Creek near Bassett, and along the Smith River. This includes the following streams and drainages... Leatherwood Creek, Bassett Branch, Beaver Creek, Koger Creek, Bull Run, Blackberry Creek, Hairston Branch, Horse Pasture Creek, Grassy Fork, Jordan Creek, Home Creek and Cascade Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Some locations that will experience flooding include...
