Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Gila County in east central Arizona... Maricopa County in south central Arizona... Pinal County in southeastern Arizona... * WHEN...Until 400 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1253 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Roosevelt, Tonto National Monument, Roosevelt Dam, Apache Lake, Roosevelt Estates and Inspiration. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
