Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall will continue this evening. * WHERE...San Bernardino County in southern California... * WHEN...Until 930 PM PDT. * IMPACTS...Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 625 PM PDT, Public reported flooding due to heavy rain along I-15 near Fort Irwin Road in Barstow. Flooding is already occurring. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Daggett and Nebo Center. This includes the following highways... Interstate 15 in California between mile markers 81 and 89. Interstate 40 in California between mile markers 2 and 11. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
