A Flood Warning means flooding is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along rivers, creeks, and other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southern Ford County in east central Illinois... * WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, low-lying areas, and poor drainage areas. Widespread street and underpass flooding. Possible flooding of structures. High water will slowly recede from flooded areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 757 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall from thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing, with broadcast media early reporting several flooded streets and flooded basements in Paxton. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Paxton, Gibson City, Elliott and Clarence. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
