Sangamon River at Monticello affecting Piatt County. .The following forecasts are based on observed precipitation, soil moisture conditions, and forecast precipitation. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Sangamon River at Monticello. * WHEN...From late tonight to late Thursday evening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 10:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 11.6 feet. Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 17.7 feet early Monday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Thursday afternoon. Flood stage is 13.0 feet. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
