White River at Elliston and Edwardsport. .Repeat thunderstorms over the southern half of Indiana today have brought heavy rainfall, with peak radar indicated amounts of between 1.50 and 2.00 inches southwest of Indianapolis, from Greene County eastward to Brown County, and Knox County eastward to Martin County. Rainfall elsewhere in the southwest quadrant of Indiana typically have been close to one inch. This rainfall will bring points on the lower White River into flood within the next 12 to 24 hours.

As mid-March 2011 high water was receding...SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was at 10.5 feet and falling steadily for the past 2 days.

At 9:45 PM EDT Sunday /8:45 PM CDT Sunday/ the stage was 14.0 feet. Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 20.4 feet Wednesday morning.
