What the bulletin says to do

To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, stop, turn around and go another way. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/ind. ...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis IN has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana... Wildcat Creek near Jerome. .Radar estimates of 2 to 5 inches of rainfall within the past 24 hours, ending at 1 PM EDT today, along with ongoing rain is bringing flooding to much of central Indiana east of I-65. Flooding is expected to develop on the Wildcat by mid-afternoon today. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wildcat Creek near Jerome. * WHEN...Until early Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Extensive flooding of Wildcat Creek in Jerome area. CR 1050 E just south of Jerome begins to flood. Extensive flooding of canoe launch site and park near SR 213. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1:15 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 8.7 feet. Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 11.8 feet late this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening.
