What the bulletin says to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. ...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis IN has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana... Big Blue River at Shelbyville. East Fork White River at Seymour. Flatrock River near Columbus. East Fork White River at Columbus. Driftwood River near Edinburgh. Muscatatuck River at Vernon. .Major river flooding is expected. Heavy rainfall of three to well over six inches overnight and continued rainfall today and tonight will bring major flooding to area waterways, including the Big Blue River at Shelbyville. Other areas such as the Driftwood near Edinburgh should expect significant flooding as well. At the current time, further downstream locations on the East Fork White can expect minor lowland flooding. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...East Fork White River at Seymour. * WHEN...From late tonight until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 16.4 feet, State Road 258 remained open after the river rebounded quickly to this level in June 2010. State Road 258 had been flooded a few days earlier after river crested at 17.9 feet. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 9:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 4.4 feet. Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to 16.3 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall Friday evening. It will rise to 16.6 feet early Sunday morning.
