Walnut River at Arkansas City.

IMPACTS

At 18.0 feet, Considerable flooding of farmland can be expected. There is considerable flooding upstream along the west bank of the Walnut River. On the east bank, the ground slopes upward so that only about a 300 foot wide strip of land would be affected.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

At 1:15 AM CDT Monday the stage was 18.2 feet. Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this morning and continue falling to 4.2 feet early Saturday morning. Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

Instructions

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
