* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...South Central Alexander County in the piedmont of North Carolina... North Central Catawba County in the piedmont of North Carolina... West Central Iredell County in the piedmont of North Carolina... * WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 228 PM EDT, Catawba River levels continued to rise with the possibility of Lookout Shoals Lake exceeding 104 feet by this evening, leading to significant inundation of low-lying areas, which includes yards, docks and boat launch areas. Vulnerable properties in the Carpenters Cove community or any other shoreline interests who would be affected by the high lake levels, should protect their properties and follow guidance from Catawba County Emergency Management. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
