IMPACTS

At 18 feet, moderate lowland flooding begins as three channels merge into one below State Highway 21. There is widespread inundation of the floodplain in the vicinity of the gage with the river more than 1.5 miles wide. Long Trussel Road in northeast Brazos County below State Highway 21 becomes inundated. At 20 feet, major lowland flooding begins with massive inundation of the floodplain as the river is close to 2 miles wide and OSR become inundated one half mile on the right bank and 1.5 miles on the left bank.

At 7:00 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 10.8 feet. Bankfull stage is 12 feet. Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Monday morning and continue rising to a crest of 19.2 feet Monday night. It will then fall below flood stage Thursday morning. Flood stage is 15 feet. Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.2 feet on 01/05/2019. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
