What the bulletin says to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Dawson County in western Texas... Gaines County in western Texas... * WHEN...Until 1230 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1048 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area, especially north or Lamesa. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lamesa, Seminole, Seagraves, Welch, Seagraves Airport, Gaines County Airport, Lamesa Municipal Airport, Los Ybanez, McKenzie Lake, Loop, Punkin Center, Patricia, Gaines County Park, Klondike, Arvana, Tenmile, Hancock, Paynes Corner, Sparenberg and Key. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
