...The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Texas... Neches River at Neches River Saltwater Barrier affecting Jasper, Hardin, Jefferson and Orange Counties. Village Creek Near Kountze affecting Hardin County. Pine Island Bayou Near Sour Lake affecting Hardin and Jefferson Counties. For the Neches River...including Town Bluff, Evadale, Neches River Saltwater Barrier...Moderate flooding is forecast. For the Village Creek...including Kountze...Major flooding is forecast. For the Pine Island Bayou...including Sour Lake...Minor flooding is forecast. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued this evening at 800 PM CDT. * WHAT...Major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Village Creek near Kountze. * WHEN...From this afternoon to late Thursday night. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Major lowland flooding will occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 7:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 7.5 feet. Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 23.3 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. Flood stage is 17.0 feet. Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 23.9 feet on 05/09/1969. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
