Where: A portion of southeast West Virginia, including the following counties, Greenbrier and Summers. When: Until 400 AM EDT.

What the bulletin says to do

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports and pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service Blacksburg Facebook page and on X.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast West Virginia, including the following counties, Greenbrier and Summers. * WHEN...Until 400 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 1143 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. This includes the following streams and drainages... Kitchen Creek, Lick Creek, Beaver Creek, Laurel Creek, Boggs Creek, Eagle Branch, Burdette Creek, Little Clear Creek, Meadow River, Meadow Creek, Fisher Creek, Little Creek and Big Clear Creek. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rainelle, Rupert, Quinwood, Sandstone, Meadow Bluff, Lawn and Elton. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
