What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Where: A portion of southeast West Virginia, including the following counties, Greenbrier and Summers. When: Until 430 PM EDT.

What the bulletin says to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports and pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service Blacksburg Facebook page and on X.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast West Virginia, including the following counties, Greenbrier and Summers. * WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 236 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Clear Creek, Elijah Branch, Big Creek, Beech Run, Eagle Branch, Bradshaw Creek, Burns Run, Beaver Creek, Fisher Creek, Burdette Creek, Buggy Branch, Boggs Creek, Greenbrier River and Boone Creek. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hinton, Rainelle, Alderson, Rupert, Quinwood, Sandstone and Meadow Bluff. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
