Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southwestern Nicholas County in southeastern West Virginia... * WHEN...Until 115 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 719 PM EDT, The automated gauge on the Meadow River at Nallen was at 14.5 feet and rising. It is expected to crest into minor flood stage of 15 feet this evening. At this stage, Chestnut Grove Road and Lumber Yard at Nallen begin to flood. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mainly rural areas of Southwestern Nicholas County. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
