Persons with interests along area rivers, creeks, and other waterways should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following counties, Ford, Iroquois and Livingston and northwest Indiana, including the following county, Benton. * WHEN...From 1 PM CDT /2 PM EDT/ this afternoon through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... A narrow west to east oriented corridor of training showers and thunderstorms may develop this afternoon through the evening where recent heavy rains have left the area more susceptible to flooding. Rainfall rates may locally exceed 1 to 2 inches which may lead to flooding where storms move repeatedly over the same areas. http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
