The active wet pattern continues across southwest Kansas, with another thunderstorm complex expected late Wednesday night through Thursday. Topsoils have become saturated, with any additional rainfall leading to runoff concerns.

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

WHERE

Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west central Kansas, including the following counties, in central Kansas, Ellis and Rush. In south central Kansas, Barber, Comanche, Edwards, Kiowa, Pawnee, Pratt and Stafford. In southwest Kansas, Clark, Finney, Ford, Grant, Gray, Hamilton, Haskell, Hodgeman, Kearny, Meade, Morton, Seward, Stanton and Stevens. In west central Kansas, Lane, Ness, Scott and Trego.

WHEN

From 1 AM CDT /midnight MDT/ Thursday through late Thursday night.

IMPACTS

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
