What is happening

What: Heat index values generally up to around 105 to 110 degrees during the afternoon and early evening hours. Impacts: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Where: Portions of north central Kansas and central, east central, and south central Nebraska. When: Until 10 PM CDT Monday.

What the bulletin says to do

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

* WHAT...Heat index values generally up to around 105 to 110 degrees during the afternoon and early evening hours. * WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas and central, east central, and south central Nebraska. * WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight low temperatures on tonight and Sunday night will provide only limited relief from the heat, dropping no lower than the low to mid 70s.
