These storms may produce a waterspout. A Special Marine Warning may be needed. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. If caught on the open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are wearing properly fitted life jackets.

The areas affected include... Coastal waters from Cape Fear NC to Little River Inlet SC out 20 NM... Coastal waters from Little River Inlet to Murrells Inlet SC out 20 NM... Waters from Little River Inlet SC to South Santee River SC from 20 to 60 NM... At 944 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Jungle to near Atlantic Ledge, moving north at 20 knots. Locations impacted include... Atlantic Ledge, Little River Offshore Reef, Jungle, Little River Reef, Lockwood Folly Inlet Sea Buoy, Sherman Wreck, A R 445, Cape Fear Sea Buoy, Shallotte River Inlet Sea Buoy, Little River Entrance, Little River Sea Buoy, and Holden Beach.
