What is happening
The environment across the Atlantic coastal waters will be suitable for waterspout formation this morning. The waterspout risk will be greatest near lines of towering cumulus clouds and in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms. The risk for waterspouts is expected to diminish by midday.
What the bulletin says to do
If waterspouts occur, move your boat away from the waterspout. Remember that waterspouts can develop rapidly and produce winds and seas that are dangerous for vessels and everyone onboard. Report waterspouts via social media or by calling the National Weather Service at 1-888-383-2024.
