Waterspouts can develop rapidly and produce winds and seas that are dangerous for vessels and everyone onboard. Report waterspouts or other severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.

The areas affected include... Coastal waters from Altamaha Sound to Fernandina Beach FL out 20 NM... Waters from Altamaha Sound GA to Fernandina Beach FL from 20 to 60 NM... At 731 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and waterspouts. These showers were located 13 nm northeast of Amelia City, or 23 nm south of St. Simons Island, moving north at 10 knots.
