What the bulletin says to do

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Frequent cloud to water lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck and, if possible, avoid ungrounded metal objects. Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.

At 629 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 21 nm east of Ormond-By-the-Sea to 21 nm northeast of South Daytona to 16 nm east of Daytona Beach Shores, moving northeast at 20 knots.
