What the bulletin says to do
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 33 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Waterspouts are possible with this activity near the coast this afternoon. Remain on the alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development. Strong thunderstorms this afternoon will likely produce winds in excess of 34 knots, and are likely to pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning will likely be required when these strong thunderstorms reach the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before these strong thunderstorms arrive.

The areas affected include... Sebastian Inlet to Jupiter Inlet 0-20 nm... Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 0-20 nm... At 216 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated developing thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 33 knots. These thunderstorms will push off of the coast through mid to late afternoon, and will move east or northeast at 10 to 15 knots. With the sea breeze pinned at the coast, storms will likely strengthen rapidly at the coast or just off of the coast creating hazardous conditions for boaters. Keep an eye to the sky westward for developing and approaching storms.
