What is happening
A few thunderstorms are possible until around midnight, mainly south of Annapolis on the Chesapeake Bay, and Occoquan on the tidal Potomac River. A strong thunderstorm with winds of 20 to 30 knots is possible. A couple of Special Marine Warnings may be needed. Mariners should prepare for gusty winds and lightning.
