The areas affected include... Coastal Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia-North Carolina border out 20 NM... Coastal waters from NC VA border to Currituck Beach Light NC out 20 NM... Currituck Sound... Waters from NC VA border to Currituck Beach Light NC from 20 to 60 NM... At 1019 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds up to 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Buoy 4a Drydocks to Knotts Island Bay to 10 nm southwest of Deal Island, moving southeast at 15 knots. Locations impacted include... Currituck Beach Light, Currituck Beach, Knotts Island Bay, Currituck Sound, Buoy 4a Drydocks, and Kill Devil Hills.
