A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Barataria Bay... Breton Sound... Chandeleur Sound... Coastal Waters from Boothville LA to Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River out 20 nm... Coastal waters from Pascagoula Mississippi to Stake Island out 20 NM... Lake Borgne... Mississippi Sound... At 452 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This cluster of thunderstorms is generally located over Lake Borgne, moving southwest at 15 knots. Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this activity passes.
