Bulletin details

A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Barataria Bay... Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM... Lake Salvador and Lake Cataouatche... At 353 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This cluster of thunderstorms is generally located 8 nm north of Barataria Bay, moving southwest at 5 knots. Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this activity passes.
