The areas affected include... Lake Michigan Michigan City IN to St. Joseph MI 5 NM offshore to mid-line of lake.... Michigan City IN to New Buffalo MI... New Buffalo MI to St Joseph MI... At 1257 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 27 nm northeast of Wilmette Harbor to near Montrose Harbor to 7 nm west of Hammond Marina, moving east at 25 knots. This line of thunderstorms is about one hour from entering the waters of SE Lake Michigan.
