A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor... Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor out to Mid Lake... At 1124 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 15 nm west of Oak Creek to 17 nm north of McHenry to 36 nm northwest of Elgin, moving southeast at 30 knots. These storms will approach the nearshore around or shortly after 12 PM CDT.
