A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Northerly Island... Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid Lake... At 135 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 11 nm southeast of Waukegan Harbor, moving southeast at 30 knots.
